The Stocking (sounds like a movie)
Piper has decided that the stocking toy is his. We gave this to Cami years ago and she never wanted it. Now of course she wants it back but he's not going to give it up.
Piper Naptime
Piper prefers to sleep cuddled up next to Mommy and the computer. As I type this, he's sleeping on my tummy.
Piper on the News
Piper started off his adventure in life with a stint on the news.
My sister heard him crying from a drain. When I arrived around 1PM in the afternoon, we called every animal service, shelter, agency, etc. we could. I made about two dozen phone calls with no results. No one would come help rescue him. The Shelby County Sheriff's office finally came out but couldn't do anything. They were very nice though. They actually asked if we had leftover fireworks and suggested we use those to scare him out. WE DID NOT DO THAT. But funny that an officer would suggest that.
Anyway, after about six hours of trying desperately to get him out with numerous friends' help, we still couldn't get to him. My sister's husband called a local news channel and got one of the people there to tweet about him. After that, Councilman Kemp and the director of public works came out and had him out of the drain by about 9PM.
Piper went to the vet Monday morning and was surprisingly in good shape.
Now he's at his forever home with me and getting to be a kitten.
Here's a copy of the news story. It's vague and doesn't include how long we spent trying to get him out and all the people involved but hey! Kitty was rescued!
